Messages getting lost

Description

It seems somehow that messages get lost under certain circumstances. They appear in the XML log, but neither in the chat window or in the log.

In my particular case, it was the following XML that wasn't handled by Gajim and only showed up in the XML console: 

<message from='edtech@manga-france.fr/Ubuntu' to='test@webkeks.org' type='chat' id='215'>
<body>sorry, phone ^^</body>
<active xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/chatstates'/>
</message>

(It happened when we were testing some E2E stuff)

Messages getting lost is really the worst bug we can have. It's hard to reproduce, but we REALLY need to fix that before 0.12.

s/when we were testing some E2E/we tried some filetransfers and then I tried to start E2E, noticed that he still has 0.11.4 only AFTER I did that/

Funny thing is: The next message he sent was displayed again.

js, do you think that this can still append (with recent e2e negotiation changes). Any way to proove that it is fixed?

Unfortunately, I don't know if it happened again. I always have the XML console open, but I don't always look at it. I can neither say it's fixed nor it's stillt existant. I can only say it was there. That's why I proposed to Asterix to just remove the milestone and keep it open with a high severity.

until we're sure it doesn't happen anymore, I just remove the milestone
