Avatar cache

Reported by: js Owned by: Jim++
Priority: high Milestone: 0.12
Component: None Version: svn
Severity: major Keywords:
Cc: OS: All

Description

The avatar cache is awfully broken. In combination with notifications (using notification-daemon), it seems it doesn't work at all. I often see old avatars in notifications, awfully old avatars. And if I clear the avatar cache, I don't see any avatar in the notifications anymore at all. It looks like there actually are resized avatars in the avatar cache for notifications, but it seems they aren't used. I think we really should have fixed that before 0.12

(In [10038]) Remove useless function and check. Make avatar in notification works with jpeg too. See #4060.

Why did you kill update_avatar_in_gui?

Changed 4 weeks ago by Jim++

It's not called anywhere. There is nearly exactly the same function in roster_win.py. I will move it to a more logical file (gajim.py) and call it more often, when I found how to do this. Actually it's not called enough.

Dbus notification works fine now, isn't it ?
