can not tab complete nicknames in chats

join a chat, type the first couple letters of a nick, hit tab. Notice no completion happens

a chat? why do you want to complete nick in chat? you talk with one person, which nick ydo you want to complete?

Sorry for the ambiguous bug report.

The jabber server I use has "conferences" where there are at least 5 people in the conference at once.

Actually it would also be nice to have tab-complete for your own nick to change your nick.

/nick takes the new nick you want. How do you want Gajim to guess the new nick you want?

Propose WORKSFORME.

When I want to message a person in a groupchat I type the beginning letters of his nick and hit tab to auto-complete it. If the sequence of chars I entered match several nicks, I can cycle through all of them by repressing tab.

Furthermore /nick is working fine as it is. Tabcompletion is not possible here. See comment above.

If my nick is somenick and i want to change it to somenickOff it would be nice to type /nick som[tab] have it auto complete somenick then i can just type Off. It's not to big a deal though.

Please go ahead and close this bug report. tab complete is working for other nicks in a group chat. Not sure why it wasn't before, but it is now. It doesn't work for 1 to 1 chats, but it's not that big a deal.

Lots of people in a room. For most of them tab completion of their nicks work okay, but i already seen one case where it is not. Nick of a person - latumist - for just a detail. You can maybe try that yourself in the conference 2-ch@….

Oh, it hid conference name. Okay, after @ sign there it is conference.jabber.ru.

Okay, it turned out that nick had a russian "a" in nick, so it was lAtumnist with russian a and thats why it didn't work. Closing ticket as it was..
