Blocking Anonymous IMs (AIM)

Well I've always loved being able to block anonymous IMs (i.e. people not on my buddy list) but I can't seem to find any documentation on how to do it in Gajim.

This feature doesn't seem to be in Gajim yet, and it is definitely something I'll need in the near future. Any chance of getting this feature?

there is an ignore_unknown_contacts that ignore all incoming messages of contacts not in your roster. If it's not exactly what you ask, reopen.

There IS ignore unknown contacts, but it doesn't seem to work.

On AIM I'm still getting IMs from people who I don't want to speak to, and they're definitely not on my buddy list (They show up in "Not in Roster")

are you sure this option is enable in advanced configuration editor (edit -> preferences -> advanced tab -> open button -> type ignore in the filter line to find it easily)

I tested here and this option seems to work here

I'm sure I have it on, it just doesn't seem to want to work.

the only possibility is that this contact is somehow in your contact list.

Which gajim version do you use ? could you try with svn version ?

could you open XML console and enable it before you connect, then, when you connect, you'll see your whole contact list sent by the server, can you check if the contact is not there ?
