hide muc-banner in compact mode

Description

Hi,

I suggest hiding the banner that holds the JID and topic of the muc when in compact mode. These are rarely of any interest: people usually know which room they're in by either the title of the window or the tabs and in the rare case you need the topic, /topic can do the trick.

Any opinions?

You already have an option in ACE called hide_groupchat_banner.

that's not what I'm talking about; I mean to just hide it when in compact mode.

just set always_hide_groupchat_buttons and hide_groupchat_banner to true and you'll get what you want.

... what I suggested was improving the compact modus for group chats, but this just puts a person in permanent compact modus. the point is that you can easily look at the banner by pressing alt+c and go back again the same way. having to do it in such a cumbersome way quite kills it.

That's your personal preference to disable both, that was that way before and we separed everything so it's configurable. What you ask is overkill, if you don't like banner, disable it.

as jim already said, there is a hide_groupchat_banner option that you can enable.
