deafult nick in transport contacts

My transported contacts' nickname looks like this in the roster: anyone%something.foo@… But i can acces their "real" nickname via rightclick -> Information -> General and the Nickname field is filled correctly. Why not use gajim this field as deafult when I not set a nick for them?

I don't remember all the MSN Id of my contacts, but their nicknames tell me more. So it would be better to display their nickname instead of the ID/mail.

(better would be to choose to display between JID/NickName/FullName/Alias) :)

yes, svn version has JEP 172 implemented, see #464

Gajim svn still displays jabber id in contact list, while nickname is

correctly set in informations.

as JEP172 saysm we get the nickname only when we register to the

transport. So remove your transport and re-add it to get the nicknames (You'll loose group information and metacontacts information for those contacts if you do so)

Ok I removed transport (right click, remove from roster), then readded it. Field "Name" in tooltip is still jabber id and not the VCard Nickname. Am I doing something wrong ?

vcard has nothing to do with that. In fact transport (if it support

JEP172) sends you every nickname when you register to the transport. Try with msn.gajim.org, it supports JEP172.
