groups in roster seems broken

Description

When using groups, gajim acts strangely. If I add 3 contacts (from a transport) to the same group, gajim will display each contact in its own group, but the 3 groups will have the same name. Changing one group's name will change the others, so they are really the same... As I may not be very clear, I'll attach a screenshot. IIRC, the version on 2005-12-01 is working correctly (but I can double check).

I also tried without any config by removing ~/.gajim, but still the same bug.

can you explain exactly how to reproduce ? I moved a contact with drag and drop, it works, and I tried with edit groups dialog, no problem ...

Here's exactly what I can do to show the bug :

  • select an ICQ contact
  • right click >> edit groups
  • type "ICQ test" then click add
  • only check "ICQ test" for the contact
  • click close
  • select another ICQ contact
  • right click >> edit groups
  • only check "ICQ test"

I can see "2" groups named "ICQ test" with one contact in each. Moving contacts with drag&drop is showing same bug.

After more tests, I can see this is not only for contacts from a transport. If I try to add some jabber contact to some custom group, I have same behavior. I don't know if this is relevant, but the "General" group is working correctly, it is not duplicated for each member...

could you try to reproduce with a clean config file this way: gajim -p test_config

Here I definitively can't reproduce
